Now cherry blossoms in the northern part of mainland Okinawa is full bloom!
I would like to let you know spots of viewing and photo-taking cherry blossoms in Motobu Town, Nakijin Village and Nago City!!

The most popular spot of viewing cherry blossoms in Okinawa is the Yae-dake Peak in Motobu Town.

The about 4-km road from the foot to the top of the Yae-dake is lined up with trees of kanhizakura (Taiwan cherry) blossoms.  It is a characteristic of viewing Yae-dake cherry blossoms that you can enjoy the flowers while driving.

Around the 5th station of the Yae-dake, there is a space for several cars to park.  You can find some cherry blossom overhanging so that you can reach.  This place is perfect for taking pictures of people.  It has been a popular spot for taking commemorative pictures!

The cherry blossom viewing point of the neighboring municipality, Nago City, is Nago-guguku Castle.
Cherry blossom trees are lined up on both sides of staircases of the approach to the shrine as well as along the road up to the top of the Nago-gusuku.

You might want to take a picture of mejiro (Japanese white-eye) stopping at the branch of cherry blossom, or focus a camera on flower petals in the back and defocus those up close, etc.  You can try taking pictures in different ways.

In addition, one of the popular cherry blossom viewing spots in the north is Nakijin-gusuku Castle Ruin.  After going under the entrance gate, cherry blossom trees are lined up along the stone-paved approach as well as around the top of the Nakijin-gusuku and in front of the gate.

Along the road from Highway 505 to the Nakijin-gusuku, you can savor beautiful cherry blossoms.  Especially when you go down the road, you will be surprised by the stunning vista.  Pick-colored cherry blossoms on both sides and a cobalt blue ocean right in front of you create a beautiful contrast.

And on top of that, it has been also very popular to view cherry blossoms lit up at night at the Nakijin Castle Site Ruin.  Even on weekdays, not a few people visit there.

Please use a tripod for taking pictures of the cherry blossoms at night.
You can capture beautiful photos with slow shutter.

The approach is lit up, which offers visitors a chance to enjoy a different atmosphere from that during the daytime around the Nakijin-gusuku.

Chery blossoms in the northern part of mainland Okinawa is now in full bloom!
Please stop by on the way back from the Churaumi Aquarium.

Why don’t you enjoy a floral view of the earliest cherry blossom in Japan?
