Driving Trip Around Ishigaki Island

One of the things that I feel happy about living in Ishigaki is friends of mine are visiting me from mainland Japan. There often happens meeting with friends in Ishigaki who haven't seen for 10 years. Once I start living here, I don't go sightseeing even beaches. There is a chance to trip around Ishigaki with my friends from Tokyo. Driving to spots to see for 3 or 4 hours to go around. Starting with lunch of Yaeyama soba! The first place to go is Southern Gate Bridge. It's just at normal bridge where great view of sea, remote islands, and town area are seen from. It's not on tourist guide books, but quite nice spot.

Well-known place, Kabira beach, about 20 minutes drive.

This is must place to go.

Heading to "Hirakubo-saki lighthouse on northmost point of Ishigaki.

360 degree view, so clear! It's hard to see in this pic, but Tarama island is seen when good condition.

Mirumiru-honpo is a good place to eat gelato on the hill if you have spare time. Enjoyed great view of Ishigaki and have some beer at night.

7 groups of my friends have come for last 3 month. Some of them even came for traditional events and became repeat customers. Some friends of couple enjoyed a lot tripping around remote islands for the first time, and said "We should have come earlier Ishigaki". For people who have never come to Yaeyama, please come not only main island of Okinawa.
