Hiroshi Kuwamura's 17th Shima Photo Column, "Painu Shimajima"(southern islands)

A photo-essay book called "Zenryaku Painu Shima" is published, which contains my photos of 7 years island trip. This is collaboration with a poet and newly published since 7 years ago. Photos taken on Miyako, Yaeyama, and islands around main island Okinawa. It is like conversation of photos and poem of poet, Daiichi Hirata. 



It's a miracle publication from Okinawa local publisher, Borderink. The "miracle" means that the category of photo and poem book is published, which is the most unpopular category at book stores. However, previous book have been almost sold out. And now, they make a new book rather than second printing. 



I usually take photos by order depending on the works, but also photos that I personally take for art which is great and happy. Even exhausted with works in the daytime, I enjoy taking photos of the moon and starry sky. Photos taken at midnight or lonely island is like self-talk, but collaboration with poet is like conversation. 1 plus 1 equals more than 2. It gets over the limit that you set by yourself.



Photos taken for 8 years of my photographer life are originally of natural aspects. New publication photo exhibition event will be held at cave on 18:00 Sep 18th, 2016. Where is the cave at?



It is "CAVE CAFÉ", Valley of Gangala in front of Okinawa World. Photo exhibition was held at same place last time to return the photos to the nature. There are talk show, poetry live, specially displayed photos, and special guest, Akira Ikuma who is famous for Orion beer TV commercial. There is also performance of poet, Daiichi Hirata.
