When you’re traveling, you probably want to enjoy your time without wasting any time to actively do fun things, right? Many of us who usually stay in bed till the last minute before getting ready for work, or those who skip breakfast, might find themselves getting up nice and early and enjoying a hearty breakfast when we’re traveling. In this article, we’d like to introduce three great gourmet spots recommended for such travelers.
How About Breakfast in Okinawa’s America?
Located about 45 minutes away from Naha Airport is Mihama American Village, where you’ll find great spots for food and drinks, shopping, and amusement facilities which include a multiplex. Within this vibrant commercial area are approximately 60 various shops! This is one of the most popular tourists spots on Okinawa and attracts many visitors every day. Open for business starting at 9:00 here in American Village is ZHYVAGO COFFEE WORKS, which opened its doors in 2015.
The owners “wanted to offer a new approach to enjoying Okinawa Island’s west coast”, and offers an ambiance like the American west coast.
A delicious breakfast to enjoy with the refreshing view before your eyes is definitely something special. They also offer various sweets to go with their wonderful coffee, so if you get a chance, please visit.

Bread Is a Must-Have for Breakfast!
A Wonderful Bakery Café Recommended for Bread Lovers
Situated on a small hill in Kitanakagusuku Village is Ploughman’s Lunch Bakery, a bakery café that’s also very popular among the locals. The baked goods that line the counters inside are often sold out by the afternoon. This popular spot is open from 8:00. A perfect stop before you start your day of enjoying the sights around Okinawa.
The menu item shown below includes an open sandwich with a generous portion of avocado, potage soup with carrots and tomatoes, and a salad. The fresh and colorful veggies are sure to stimulate your appetite, and the bread is nice and chewy, and very satisfying. They’re also quite particular about their coffee, so kick back after your meal and enjoy your freshly brewed cup of coffee.

How About a Delicious and Popular Acai Bowl for Beautiful Skin?
Last on our list is C&C BREAKFAST OKINAWA, located just by the Makishi Public Market (which is currently under construction. Since the original post, C&C BREAKFAST OKINAWA has also opened a branch in Chatan. Please check their website for details.). The concept for their shop: delicious breakfasts while traveling. They offer a great lineup of yummy breakfasts including pancakes, eggs benedict, omelet with lots of ingredients, and others that will definitely start your day on the right foot. They’re open from 9:00 on weekdays and from 8:00 on the weekends and holidays. They get pretty busy from the early hours, especially on the weekends.
For those of you who enjoy light breakfasts, then we recommend their acai bowl. Even if you haven’t tried it yet, many of you interested in beauty care and diet must have heard about the miracle fruit, acai. Acai is rich in anthocyanin, polyphenol, vitamins B, C, E, and has high fiber and iron content. Don’t skip the opportunity to try their acai-packed Acai Bowl! The granola topping is made in-house and available for purchase, so why not pick some up as a treat for yourself?

That was our introduction of three establishments catering to early birds on Okinawa. When we start the day with a great morning, the rest of the day tends to go happily, too. While you’re in Okinawa, try out some breakfast items that you may not usually have at home, and enjoy your time on the island.
