The Newest Café on Café Street in Akebono, Ishikawa, Uruma City!

Ishikawa Akebono in Uruma City, where foreigners’ residences are lined up, has been gaining popularity from the locals as a café street.
This café, “NIWA CAFÉ” is the newest one among all the cafes.
From the window, you can see a blue sky, sea and a tricolored iron tower with an atmosphere.

It is quite comfortable to be in a space where tables made by the owner, maco-san, different kinds of chairs and a variety of his favorite wares are stylishly displayed.
Each of the dishes cooked by Yukari-san, the owner’s wife, who worked for a long time as a chef in Tokyo, is very delicious.

The curry and rice, which she directly learned from a friend from Bangladesh, is authentic so that you might want to return here once you try it.  Vegetables and pickles added to the curry are not only seasonal ones but also rare vegetables found in a local market.

“Croque- Monsieur,” a homemade, thick brioche macerated with plenty of creamy, white sauce, is a popular menu item.  It is high volume, but everyone can finish it quickly.

Maco-san has a collection of cups of potters in Okinawa, with which you can savor a cup of wholeheartedly, hand-dripped coffee.
Sometimes pretty late art is found in your coffee.

One of the big charms of NIWA CAFÉ is excellent sweets in addition to exquisite dishes.
“Ougon Imo (Golden-colored sweet potato)” is a special product from Ikei Island, Uruma City.
Tarts using the organic Ougon Imo grown by a local farmer Murata-san are very popular.

In addition, three to four kinds of tarts are available according to seasons.
They kindly please tourists with Okinawan fruit on their tarts while they satisfy the local customers with fruit that can hardly be found in Okinawa.

They also have “Tsuken-jima Carrot Cider,” using the organic Tsuken-jima carrots, which is a local product of Tsuken Island in Uruma City.

Customers with children are happy that the café provides them a cute kid’s room and a kid’s plate.

Mothers can have a good café time without constraints.

They open night bars only on Fridays and Saturdays.  You can savor organic wine, homemade sausages and venison steak that is rare in Okinawa with alcohol.
The café at night is also recommended because you can enjoy an adult atmosphere, different from that in a daytime.

As well as their food and sweets are heavenly, you can have a good time talking with the owner, maco-san.
