There is a café covered in lush green called “Café ENISHI” near “Hinpun Gajumaru,” which is a symbol of Nago and the sacred tree.
The concept of the café is “Green and Bond (Enishi),” which came from the environment full of green vegetation and the wish for the bond between one person and another person.
Actually this café was used as a location for a film called “Gajumaru Shokudo no Koi (Love at Gajimaru Restaurant)”. At the opposite side of the café, the restaurant used for shooting the film remains.
The sacred tree which is used for a title of the film has been gaining attention as a power spot for success in love.
(For the detail, please watch its DVD, which is available at DVD rental shops from February 4.)
In contrast to the lush green outside appearance, the interior has a sober atmosphere, which makes you feel relaxed.
Free WiFi in the shop and a parking space are available, so it would be perfect to take a break here on the way up to the north.
Staff always welcome you with a smile. The showcase in front of them has a variety of delicious sweets.
These sweets are from a famous cake shop in Nago City called “EBISU,” and you can buy them at the same prices as in the main shop.
Among all the baked confectionary, the most popular one is “Karintou Manju,”which won the Tourism Chief Award at the 26th National Confectionary Exposition.
At the Café ENISHI, you can savor such baked goods representing Nago.
(The Karintou Manju goes well with coffee, so please enjoy it with coffee!)
And on top of that, they aim at “Chisan Chisho (Locally-grown, locally-consumed) for ingredients for food menu items, so they use plenty of fresh vegetables from Yanbaru (the northern mountainous area of mainland Okinawa). Especially, the chef’s recommendation is pasta menu items. Lunch menu items served on a day-to-day rotating basis are also recommended.
“Nago Cherry Blossom Festival” are held on this weekend, Saturday, January 31 and Sunday, February 1. The venue for the festival parade is near the Hinpun Gajumaru on the Nago O-dori (the prefectural road No. 84), so why don’t you stop by the Café ENISHI?
