Hot Spot in Nakijin Village! “Otohadake Forest Park Camping Site” in Virgin Forest Jungle Perfect for Nature Stay at Summit

Otoha-dake Peak (275 m above sea level) has been loved by the local people in Nakijin Village as the nickname of “Oppadake.”  The peak has a forest park in lush wildwood, the typical surroundings in the north of the main Okinawa island.   You can stay on the camping site or in a bungalow.

First, please look at an observatory in the park, where you can enjoy a dynamic 360°panoramic view.  You will have a bird's-eye view of lush mountains, communities in Nakijn Village, Kouri Ohashi Bridge connecting Yagaji Island and Kouri Island, the East China Sea glowing with all the colors of the rainbow, and Haneji Inland Sea, which has been called as “Matsushima in Okinawa.”

You cannot help but sigh by the bright beauty only found in this area.

A small athletic course was built in the park, so it is interesting to have a good exercise with your children.

In addition, a nature trail developed in the park can show you a tract of virgin forest, a very typical landscape in the north of main Okinawa island, including lush “Hikagehego (flying spider-monkey tree fern),” which has been known as a plant in the Paleozoic age.

At the camping site, you can rent a tent (paid), BBQ set (paid) for using at the kitchen, and use a shower (free for camping site or bungalow users).
Even for those who have few experiences in outdoor activities can enjoy a comfortable stay here.

If you do not like to stay outside overnight, you can choose a large-sized bungalow or a small-sized bungalow. But the bungalows were built basically for avoiding rain and dew, so the 5 large-sized ones (The capacity is for about 10 persons) have only toilets.

The 4 small-sized ones (The capacity is for about 5 persons) have toilets and simplified showers.  Pleas note that both the large ones and the small ones have no beddings, so please bring sleeping bags with you.

Nakijin Village is in a perfect location with a good access to Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium, Kouri Island, and Ogimi Village and the further north.

Especially at the summit of the Otoha-dake peak, away from city lights and the hustle and bustle of the resort areas, you will be thrilled not only by the vast, lush nature but also by the sparkle, starry sky if weather permits.
