A Handmade Talisman Filled with Thought

Leaves, such as zebra grass, in a cross-shape are said to be a talismans called Sangwa. Long ago it was believed that it would protect offerings, food and children from majimun (evil spirits). Whether in a lunch for an outing, or hidden in bag before a trip, it is a handmade talisman that shows parental love. It is a wonderful piece of Okinawan culture that can be passed down from parent to child.
