Not Only for Swimming! You Can Enjoy BBQ and Marine Sports at This Beach!

It is only a 20 minute drive from the Haebaru Minami Interchange, on the Okinawa Express Way.
Azama Sun Sun Beach is surrounded by the beautiful nature of Chinen, Nanjo City.

After driving through the hilly mountain road, you will be welcomed by the very blue water and white sand beach.

This beach is so beautiful that it has been often used as a shooting place for television commercials and magazines.  The swimming area is wide and long and the bottom gets deeper gently.   Even at low tide of a spring tide, it seldom happens that “There is no water in the swimming area.”  Regardless of the tide, you can enjoy swimming at this beach.

It is recommended to swim in the morning.  The water is much clearer, cold and feels very comfortable!

You can rent a beach parasol and a chair, so you can gaze into the ocean while taking a break at the beach.

They have installed safety nets for keeping the jellyfish away from the swimming area.  A lifeguard is always on duty so you feel easy while swimming with children.

There is a roofed summerhouse, where you can rest or use for a  BBQ.
The beach staff will install the BBQ apparatus for you, so it is reassuring to a group of only ladies.

Rental of a BBQ apparatus costs 3,500 yen (tax included).
Food prices vary according to courses.  A set for Okinawan pork costs 950 yen or higher per person (tax included), and you can choose a variety of other courses such as a set for beef and spare rib, a set for Okinawa Agu pork, or a hamburger set for children.  As an option, you can rent a beer server as well.

The beach staff can prepare the BBQ food and apparatus for you, so you can just come here from the airport and leave empty-handed.
※  Reservation should be made at least three days before the reservation day.

On the beach, nets for beach volleyball and posts for beach soccer are installed, so you can enjoy sports after your meal as well.

In addition, they have a variety of marine sport programs including activities in which you are pulled by a jet ski bike-like banana boat, half pipe, big marble as well as wakeboard (prior reservation is required.).  Well-trained lifeguards will be  instructors for every activity program, so you can try with no worries even for the first time.

As the swimming area is completely separated from the marine sports area, you do not need to worry about disturbing other swimmers.

This is “Bell of Happiness,” which is secretly popular at this beach.
Not a few couples ring bells to swear their love at sunset.

Changing rooms & showers, and coin-operated lockers are available.  With the beach house that has a wheelchair-accessible restroom, the beach is designed for barrier-free accessibility.

Azama Sun Sun Beach is recommended not only for families who like to spend time in a leisurely fashion, but also for ladies who like to move around actively.

There are some sightseeing spots such as Sefa Utaki, one of Okinawa's World Heritage sites. nearby, so why don’t you stop by here while driving in the southern part of Okinawa Main Island?
