200,000,000 Year Rising Subtropical Forest

Five minutes away from the northern from the northernmost point of Yanbaru, Cape Hedo, there is a large rock formation called Daiseki Rinzan (Large Rock Forest Mountain). The blue sky and it towering over you will take your breath away. The limestone has over the long time of 200 million years with power of nature, has made the northernmost tropical karst. With is 40 unganju (places of worship), it is seen as sacred ground and it is also famous for being used for shoots in movies and magazines.

The rest area is the start and there is a variety of courses.  On the Churaumi Observation Deck Course, you can enjoy large panoramic views; On the Tropical Natural Forest Course you can walk through a thick banyan forest; On the Huge Rock/Sekirin Impressive Course, you can enjoy the tropical karst of mysterious rocks; and on the Barrier Free Course, the elderly, those with children and those in wheelchairs can enjoy Sekirin. These are the four way to have fun.

You can enjoy the uniquely name Gorilla Rock which it even though it was created by nature.

From the observation deck you can look over a vast sea. You can see tourists sitting on benches and while facing the northernmost point of Cape Hedo enjoying the comfortable sea breeze. When people passed each other they greet each other and the sight of that trip of clams the mind.


The over 60,000 sago palms grow as if they are capturing the sky, and there are so many that it is that is almost completely covers the craggy mountain.

On the Tropical Natural Forest course, the wind often rustles the forest and banyan, night-scented lily, leopard plants and other plants grow densely. The course will you give you the hope that you might see a Kijimuna (an Okinawan apparition) the inside of the large banyan tree with its hanging roots.     
 
By just taking one course you can enjoy the dynamic mountain but by taking all the courses you can enjoy a 200 million year journey.
