CafeRestaurant & Inn Kanutan on the Beach at a great location where you can see the emerald green ocean
post : 2017.07.16 07:00
With a view of the East China sea, café Kanutan can be reached from Churaumi Aquarium, a popular tourist spot in Okinawa in about ten minutes by car. The most charming feature of their location is the ocean spread out before you from the observation seating.
The view from the observation deck is outstanding. A good seat will make your meal and café experience more enjoyable!
The colors of the sea are breathtakingly beautiful. The area fronting the café is known for its natural beach where sea turtles lay their eggs. The ocean can be seen from every table including those inside.

Terrace tables. Stay cool even sitting outside, thanks to the sea breeze.
An ideal time awaits, enjoying a nice view with a cold tropical drink.
Mango and acerola juices
The café is not only known for the great view – such as the Okinawa soba. Owner Yasuhiro Kamiya makes just enough of his noodles every day to serve his customers. He is the fourth generation in his family business and inherited the noodle machine from his parents. He made a thorough study of Okinawa soba in order to make it perfect.
The freshly made noodles have a good balance of chewiness and firmness. Of noodle items, I recommend the cold Okinawa soba dish “Umi zaru” on a hot summer day. This item, made of seafood and mozuku seaweed, is served only between the months of May and October.
The noodle is chilled to icy cold immediately after it is boiled. It is a difficult process if you use ready-made noodles.
Although Okinawa soba is traditionally served hot, you should give the cold one a try in the summer. Three kinds of sauce are available, but I recommend the acerola: It has a perfect balance of sweet and sour.
“Tantan (spicy sesame) soba” with lots of vegetables is their most popular item. The flavorful sesame soup, the homemade noodles and local leafy vegetables are exquisite.
The item has plenty of raw and cooked vegetables.
“Local sashimi and umibudo (sea grapes) rice bowl”
Delicate umibudo seaweed and fresh fish from Motobu Port sit on top of a rice bowl.
Various food items are available to sample. I am certain that you will find your own favorites.
In addition to coffee and food, this place is a true inn with overnight accommodations. The all-wood structure provides a warm atmosphere -- and of course there's the beautiful ocean view. You can relax in a jacuzzi and gaze at the ocean after a day of beach activities.
Relax in a jacuzzi with a view during your stay.
The inn can accommodate just one group per night so you don’t have to worry about any one next door. It is a great place for families with kids, who can view a gorgeous panoramic view while enjoying a meal together.
Mr. Kamiya and his staff in their blue uniforms welcome you!
