Learn About the Culture and Nature of Seafaring Race at “Ocean Expo Park”
Churaumi Aquarium is located within Ocean Expo Park, and there are some facilities to learn about the history, culture, and nature of Okinawa. Besides the Aquarium where visitors can learn about the sea life, visitors are able to learn about the history and culture of seafaring race through exhibition which takes place at the park. Also, they can enjoy looking at planetarium and hear the folk tales about stars.

“Bise Fukugi Trees” with Beautiful Green Tunnel
“Bise Fukugi Trees” near Churaumi Aquarium is a nice road lined with Fukugi trees, and those trees are planted alongside the road. Since typhoon approaches to Okinawa many times, people planted Fukugi trees around their houses for protection from the strong wind. Residents of Bise area also planted Fukugi trees as windbreak, and it turned out to be the road. Actually, some of the trees are more than 300 years old.
Sunshine between trees seems beautiful on a sunny day, and you can have a relaxing time in the green tunnel.
