Small Uninhabited Island, Komaka Island
A tiny island about 800 m around is about 2 km off the coast of Chinen Peninsula in the southern part of mainland Okinawa.
It is just a 15 minute boat ride to the island!!! You can access there very easily.
The charm of the island is, best of all, the crystal clear waters and the breathtaking beauty. The closer you get to the island by boat, the more amazingly transparent and more beautiful emerald green water you encounter!
I was born in Okinawa, but I have never seen such lovely water around me.
You can take a stroll around the island in just 15 minutes.
Since the access to the deserted island is by boat only, you can fully enjoy your personal time.
Komaka Island is perfect for those who enjoy swimming and marine leisure activities in a relaxed manner.
The beach sand is very fine, so you can let children to walk on bare feet at ease.
As well as marine sport activities, even small children can enjoy playing with colorful fish at the edge of the water.
When you go around to the back side of the island, you will be able to take a close look at Kudaka Island, which is well known for the island of the gods.
How mysterious to see ocean wave lapping onto the shore from Kudaka Island and its oddly-shaped rocks and steep cliffs!
You might feel as if you were standing in a different world.
Just behind where you get out of the boat, you can find a beach filled with pieces of petrified corals. You can enjoy picking up your favorite shaped corals.
As a boat departs every 30 minutes from 9:15 AM, you can casually visit the island just for one hour stay.
The port has a shower, so you can kick up your heels on Komaka Island, take a shower at the port, and directly go to the airport! It is possible to make a plan like that!
Since Komaka Island is uninhabited island, it is highly recommended that you prepare food and drinks before going there. Especially drinks are a must item! When you get out of the boat, you will walk into water, so please wear something you can get wet in.
In the summer, many people visit the island for camping and enjoying the starry night sky!
On Komaka Island, where you can encounter a breathtakingly fascinating water,
please burn the color of the water in Okinawa into your memory.
