Retro crepe shop near the market street, “O’CREPE”

The triangular zone surrounded by Kokusai-dori Street, Ukishima-dori Street, and Sakurazaka-naka-dori Street is a super fun area for strolling. You could vaguely feel the atmosphere of the area of Public Market, and tiny shops are scattered around this area, where a café “sweets café O’CREPE” opened about a year and a half ago.
When you climb the narrow staircase and open the purple wooden door, the moment when you feel as if you were wandering into a film set starts. The interior designed with dried flowers and mid-century sofas is completely western-style, but the retro feeling is perfectly matched with the surrounding of the café. Here the ambiguous borderlines between the ordinary life and extraordinary life are dissolved and blended into their surroundings.
You are already happy eating crepe, the food which tickles women's heart. The atmosphere could hardly be more favorable. In this fantastic café, you can savor authentic crepe using 100% rice flour. They offer eight kinds of crepe including ones with savory fillings and ones with various sweet toppings. The owner patisserie Mr. Tsukasa Higa selects carefully ingredients other than rice flour as well. Using kibiko (millet flour) for sweetness, soy milk for moisture, and oil from savory, thick white sesame instead of butter for oil, he produces the original taste that visitors cannot enjoy in any other places.
You enjoy a delicious taste of glutinous, fluffy crepe, and on top of that, carefully-sauteed apple is perfectly matched to house made caramel sauce. Mr. Higa recommends “Agu Pork Bacon Crepe” and “Pumpkin Salad Crepe,” saying “As crepe is made from rice flour, it goes well with salty flavor.” Oh, I really want to try them as soon as possible!
The above picture shows the owner patisserie is Mr. Tsukasa Higa. By using “O” in “O’CREPE,” he puts his wish that “this place will be a place for connection to go around in a circle.”
The café is in good access to Kokusai-dori Street and many tourists come here, so he prepares with drinks unique to Okinawa such as juice using acerola from Yanbaru, chai using Yanbaru Spice, herb tea, etc.
Hot drinks like “Hot Hibiscus from Okinawa (420 yen) and Yanbaru Chai Tee (500 yen) are served in ware of a popular pottery artist, Ms. Mika Higashionna.
It is comfortable to hear lovely voices of children in the neighborhood spending their time after school in a park “Nigiwai Hiroba” in front of the café. Please visit the “wonderland,” where you can forget time passing by and fully enjoy Okinawan time.
